●It's said that the sensation of "delicious" is truly felt when all five senses—taste, sight, smell, touch, and hearing—combine. When we hear the word "delicious," we tend to think of it as being limited to the taste we sense on the tongue, but here's the result of an experiment:
●"The sense that most evokes the memory of "delicious" is sight, accounting for over 80% of the time, taste at about 5%, followed by smell, touch, and hearing." Therefore, the fact that we perceive something as "delicious" simply by perceiving the five tastes—sweet, salty, sour, spicy, and bitter—is due to the five senses, primarily sight.
●Bone china is a type of porcelain containing bone ash, characterized by its warm milky white color, smooth texture, and beautiful translucency. First produced in England in the mid-18th century, Narumi Seito developed Japan's first bone china dinner set in 1956.
● NARUMI bone china uses a fritted glaze, a manufacturing process distinct from other porcelains. The glaze melts at a lower temperature than lime or talc glazes, resulting in a smoother surface that reflects light better and creates a beautiful sheen.
● The silky white of bone china enhances the colors of its surroundings, making food seem even more delicious.
● Furthermore, bone china's delicate body, shape, and the smooth, well-melted glaze create a soft, moist feeling on the fingers. This subtle touch stimulates our tactile senses and evokes a sense of deliciousness.
● Furthermore, if you carefully wash your dishes with a sponge and then stand them upright, the smoothness of the fritted glaze allows water to drip off easily, resulting in excellent drainage. In terms of physical properties, bone china is said to have stronger bending strength than hard porcelain, and, depending on the shape, has good impact resistance and translucency.
