Let a glass wind chime catch the breeze by a window, balcony or sheltered garden corner, and the day gains a softer edge. Blue and white glass drops bring light, movement and a delicate tinkling sound, turning even a quiet spot into something gently alive.
Sound shaped by the breeze
The glass pieces make a light, delicate sound when they move in the wind.
It suits places where you want a small sensory pause, such as a reading nook, porch or balcony.
The sound is naturally irregular, changing with each movement rather than following a fixed tune.
Even when still, the hanging form adds colour and texture to the space around it.
Blue and white glass in motion
The blue and white palette feels fresh and coastal, especially near natural light.
Glass catches brightness beautifully, so the chime has presence as both decoration and sound object.
The drop shape gives the piece a soft vertical flow when it hangs.
Wood adds a natural contrast to the smooth glass, keeping the look warm rather than polished.
Recycled glass, wood and Indonesian origin
This piece is part of a recycled glass wind chime range, made with wood and glass. It comes from Indonesia, where decorative hanging pieces are often shaped with a strong sense of colour, movement and everyday atmosphere.
Where to hang it
Hang it where air can move around it gently, such as near an open window, under a covered porch or in a sheltered outdoor corner. Bring it indoors during harsh weather, and wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth when it needs freshening.
Chimes as quiet markers
Wind chimes appear in many cultures as objects placed at thresholds, windows and gardens, where sound marks the presence of moving air. Some folk traditions associate chimes with protection, good fortune and a welcoming atmosphere. Here, that meaning is best held softly: a small hanging ritual of sound, colour and attention, bringing the outside world into the daily rhythm of home.
