2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Tove Jansson's The Great Flood (1945). This work, which marks the first appearance of the Moomins, was written by Tove as a means of comforting herself during the war.

Kodansha Bunko has been introducing the Moomin stories since 1978. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Moomin novels in 2025, the Kodansha Bunko edition has also been updated with a new edition.
