As one of the new century's leading jazz pianists, Brad Mehldau has earned acclaim from numerous artists and musicians across genres. Last year, he released "VARIATIONS ON A MELANCHOLY THEME," a collaboration with the Grammy Award-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. This March, he released "JACOB'S LADDER," a work born from musical inspiration and deep contemplation inspired by progressive rock. Now, he's completed a new album. This latest release features a Beatles covers album, recorded during a solo concert at the Philharmonie de Paris in September 2020, showcasing his contemporary interpretations of songs by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison. These performances are all being released as official recordings for the first time. The album also ends with a cover of David Bowie's classic "Life on Mars?".
