It achieves smooth rotation and high rigidity when reeling. ■MONOCOQUE BODY■ The monocoque structure is a structure in which the body itself functions as a frame, providing resistance to twisting and bending and achieving space savings. It is used in rockets and F1 cars, which require durability and space efficiency under extreme conditions. LT is the new standard for Daiwa's compact spinning reels, born from the evolution of the gear, the heart of the reel, and the body material that encases it, making it even tougher. ■Magsealed■ Anglers who fish in extreme environments demand reels that maintain their performance under any circumstances. However, waterproofing the rotating structure has been a difficult challenge that every developer has tackled. The key issue with rotating structures is that they require space for rotation. Closing that space for waterproofing results in a loss of rotational performance. The solution to this problem is MagSeal, a concept based on "blocking liquid with liquid." It's a semi-permanent, magnetic wall of mag oil, a unique DAIWA technology that prevents seawater and dust from entering the reel. Since its launch in 2010, this groundbreaking technology has continued to evolve, incorporating it into line rollers and ball bearings, and is now becoming essential technology for DAIWA reels and anglers alike. The 21CALDIA's body boasts a seamless monocoque body structure and stopperless design, making it highly waterproof, and is now installed in the pinion gear. This reel boasts a more comprehensive waterproof structure than previous series. ■TOUGH DIGIGEAR■ The drive gear, the most important part of a reel, requires a trinity of essential elements: design concept, processing technology, and gear material. The 21CALDIA further evolves the Digigear II, incorporating the "Tough Digigear" for smoother rotation and longer life. The design concept meticulously accounts for the impact of unexpected force on engagement. This creates the ideal gear with a high-strength finish. It achieves virtually noiseless rotation, accurately responding to the angler's delicate fingertip sensitivity. ■ATD■ It controls drag force in response to the fish's pull, preventing the fish from gaining control. A looser drag setting is effective for taking full advantage of this characteristic. This setting provides strong drag force when hooking, while constantly responding to the fish's pull, allowing even large fish to be landed without excessive struggle. ■LC-ABS (Long Cast-ABS)■ While maintaining the ABS II's reduced contact resistance, the forward contact point allows for smoother line release. The forward-facing ring makes it harder for the line to get caught on the ring, resulting in approximately 5% longer casting distance and improved trouble-free performance over the previous ABS II. This is the next generation ABS spool that truly achieves LC (long cast). ■Perfect Line Stopper■A new line stopper design that is compatible with both thin lines such as PE and thick lines such as leaders. The horizontally long setting structure saves vertical space and contributes to reducing the spool's weight. ■Stopperless Body■The body structure has been simplified by removing the stopper. The decision to remove the stopper, which is a route for water and foreign objects to enter, not only reduces weight and improves waterproof performance, but also minimizes the risk of sudden trouble when fishing in harsh environments or with large fish, which are essential features of the CALDIA series.
