Product Introduction

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) began receiving C-46D aircraft from the U.S. military in January 1955, with 36 aircraft delivered by 1957. Subsequently, in 1959, the Taiwan Air Force acquired nine C-46As (modified to D specifications) and three Ds. Many aircraft were assigned for special purposes: three were converted into EC-46Ds for electronic warfare training, five into flight inspection aircraft (C-46AACS), and one into a variety of experimental aircraft (C-46FTB). AACS aircraft were equipped with ACLs (anti-collision lights) on the underside of the fuselage and various small antennas were added. Furthermore, the interior of the aircraft was significantly different, with various measuring instruments packed throughout the cabin. The distinctive fluorescent paintwork of AACS aircraft was actually a sticker (large film) applied to the aircraft. This kit recreates the impressive C-46 aircraft with easy-to-assemble parts. Features include the AACS aircraft's distinctive ACL (anti-collision lights) and various antennas, recreating the differences from the transport version. The decals are made by Cartograf, featuring vibrant, high-quality colors, and include the fluorescent orange markings covering the entire fuselage and the red and white checkered stripe on the tail, dramatically transforming the aircraft's appearance. - PLATZ Plastic Model Kit
