The diameter is clearly undersized, it doesn't completely cover the original braid, so does it need to be removed? Yeah, right now. But it looks good, creates a new interior especially if you add decor with a similar film to other elements on the panel, I recommend it

The black areas are bumpy and "warm". The colored areas are smooth and "cold". That's how the hands feel. The shiny stripes fell off after a week.
